Day 4

Today was chiobu galore =)
went to the other service apartment FraserSuites for 1 day attachment. now feeling sad cuz no more chiobu to see le =(
early in the morning went to front office and saw chio bu #1 and found out she was an nyp intern like the other 2 'nt so chio' interns at Fraserplace. Sian to the max.
viewed the property before heading to back office see chio bu #2 =) full timer, around 30?
During lunch sat down and spot chio bu #3 opposite table and i thought to myself why this only happen to me when im here for a day D= went to slack and saw chio bu #3 again. She was supposed to take me to her department for orientation next. YES!! so chatted with her on the way to the main office of reservations. so blah blah blah orientation with her over le. lowest point of the day haiz.

went back tried a position which is concierge but also aka bellhop aka cab caller aka mover aka door opener aka lift boy. sibei tiring but finally i earned my first tip: $2 and this comes from a guest with only 1 small luggage, so generous unlike the singaporeans i helped out with their mountain of luggages.

So sad that today might never come back again and back to my boring fraserplace with all the aunties =/

Day 3

HUAT ARH!!!!! HALF WAY thru the week le.

today morning went cafeteria learn and help out with the dishes and taught by an old timer of 12 yrs experience (pay close attention to this guy)

after dat before lunch went to finance dpt, the dpt which i dread the most. went in found out there was a mistake in scheduling so none of them was ready for me. in de end they tried to give a briefing spontaneously and resulted in me understanding close to nothing. events and promotions cancelled my time since the whole dept is run by a single guy and he isnt free today, YES A SINGLE GUY for a whole department which controls all guests activities in the service apartment, imba kia.

After lunch got no dept to go so went operations dept see anything to do. found out all out for lunch and spotted a few sleeping in the 'sunshine corner' a room for staff to watch cable and newspapers. so i went jalan jalan and even bought a book. slacked till ard 2pm went to concierge to find something to do. and saw that old timer again, this time dressed as a concierge (found out he had various duties in one day aka octupus) helped out with mail before taking the shuttle bus at 3 to another service apartment of theirs and listen to security. the security guy talked to me for about 30mins before he ran out of things to say. so instead of the scheduled 3hrs, he let me off after 45mins.
thus off to starbucks and grab a drink since he said going home too early isnt good especially if seen by higher-ups haha.

thus today ended off even better than ysterday. sure hope this life carries on (wishful thinking)

FIRST DAY!

back to this blog because i need somewhere to rant.

first day of itp today and im brain fried.
took a pretty short orientation around the whole place and various departments before lunch. It was better than expected and i could survive on it for the next 6 months.

After lunch, posted to concierge for the rest of the day and tried to learn the ropes. too bad there was so many ropes to learn, its virtually impossible. Now comes the worst part, one by one they left the front desk till its me all alone.
At first tot it was alright till one guest come, Norwegian. HOSEH cannot understand 9 out of 10 words she saying, so first thing that came to my mind is to get help asap. Ran over to the back office and find whoever that can take charge, problem solved.
Next guest American lady who pronounce 710 as 17 (heard by the other staffs after seeking their help too, so nt my fault hor).

Tml housekeeping and engineering, hope they dun info overload me too
